Next to your eyes, lips are the second most noticeable thing on your face.
There is nothing worse than dry, cracked, chapped lips. No matter whether it is cold, windy or sunny, something likes to dry out our lips. Lips do not contain oil glands like our skin and become chapped faster. Here is a simple solution to adding long lasting moisture to your lips quickly. This DIY lip balm is all natural, easy to make and cost efficient. It also makes an excellent gift.
Ingredients:
- 2 TBSP Coconut oil
- 2 TBSP Cocoa Butter
- 2 TBSP Beeswax
- 25 drops Essential oil – Peppermint, Spearmint, Lavender, or Lemon
Misc Items:
Instructions:
- In a double boiler melt the coconut oil, cocoa butter and beeswax by stirring often. (If you do not have a double boiler you can also place a glass bowl in a sauce pan.)
- Once your oils are melted, remove from the burner and stir in your essential oil.
- Pour mixture into lip balm tubes. You will need to act fast as the mixture will harden quickly.
- Before you add the cap, let tubes sit for a few hours until they are cool and completely hardened.
- Add a cute little label to the outside.
This simple formula make around 12 tubes of lip balm.
